When People Know You're "Into" Something

When people know you’re “into” something. . . surprises appear.  Last Friday, when I arrived at work, a Disney Trivia book was waiting for me.  No claim as to the giver of the gift, so a total surprise. The copyright date was 1988, but still, it was a book filled with Disney trivia—theme parks (only 3 at the time of writing the book), animated features, live action movies, and Disney on TV.  Already, I have enjoyed the book immensely.

Then, just yesterday, as a thank you gift, I received another Disney book—Disneystrology.  A book of astrology based on Disney characters.  The characters for my birthdate—The Dewdrop Fairies from Fantasia.  The book says I’m magical, uplifting, and dedicated.  Hmmm. . .  And, this book has already been great fun to share with family, coworkers, and friends.

And, there was the book my local bookseller gave to me.  It was about Celebration, Florida, the town that Disney built.  It seems that after making a bulk purchase of books, my local bookseller came across the book and thought of me.  Ahhh. . .   I was happy to receive the book and have read it learning a lot about Celebration, etc.

My mother-in-law gave me a biography about Walt Disney as a gift.  Yep, read that one too!

Then there were the surprise Mickey earrings that I received on my birthday—click here to read more, the Mickey waffle maker that was a Christmas gift, Disney blankets have been given to us as gifts, and I received a Mickey fleece sweatshirt as a gift as well.  All of them have been unexpected, yet welcome, surprises.

Yep, when people know you’re “into” something. . . many surprises appear!
